Our company is looking for a forward-thinking financial professional to fill the role of Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate will bring a ‘roll up your sleeves’ approach to leadership and be able to provide data-driven financial insights that translate numbers into meaningful action. As the CFO, you will serve as the subject matter expert and advisor to key stakeholders on all accounting and financial matters, including planning, forecasting, modeling, profitability analysis, etc. This position reports to the CEO but partners closely with company leadership to ensure our financial goals align seamlessly with business strategies and drive profitable growth.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Maintain executive responsibility for all financial operations, including working capital, capital expenditures, taxes, budget, and general accounting.
- Lead, mentor, and oversee the professional growth & development of the Finance & Accounting team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Analyze current and future business operations & plans to determine financial effectiveness and to proactively identify & mitigate risk.
- Conduct comprehensive financial assessments, including analyzing budgets, cash management strategies, and financial statements to drive enhancements to financial processes & reporting.
- Partner with corporate CFO and corporate financial team on reporting schedules and to maintain a collaborative and holistic approach to the company’s financial reporting, audit, and compliance requirements.
- Executive oversight of M&A activities to ensure the best outcome for the company and seamless integration of data into our systems.
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to highlight financial opportunities and implement expense reduction strategies without compromising the best in class support we provide to our clients or negatively impacting our most valuable asset – our people.
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of period end closing and preparation of financial statements.
- Collaborate with Legal and People departments regarding contracts, financial regulations, corporate governance, internal controls, insurance renewals, etc.
- Effectively manage relationships with banks, brokers, and other financial institutions to ensure strong financial positioning.
- Other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Desired Background
- 5+ years of progressive experience within senior-level finance roles in a large-size multi-state company (Supply Chain, B2B servicing preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; MBA or CPA preferred
- Demonstrated success with the following: driving growth strategies, budget development, designing/building financial controls, audit management, M&A financial integration, forecasting, improving the organization’s financial performance
- Exceptional analytical skills paired with the ability to translate numbers into strategic narratives.
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of US GAAP; experience navigating expansion in North America
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster trust and collaboration across teams.
- Expert knowledge of ERP systems, Excel, BI, modeling, etc.
