The Anne Arundel County Community Action Agency (AACCAA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing poverty and empowering families through high-quality programs and services. With a budget exceeding $4 million, AACCAA administers federal, state, local, and private funds to provide vital support to the community.
We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team and ensure the financial health, accountability, and sustainability of the agency.
Responsibilities
- Lead the financial strategy and fiscal operations of the agency, aligning decisions with mission and goals.
- Manage accounting, budgeting, payroll, procurement, and cash flow.
- Oversee cost allocation, indirect cost recovery, and grant budgeting in compliance with 2 CFR Part 200.
- Ensure financial compliance with GAAP and funder requirements.
- Prepare and present accurate financial reports to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Finance Committee.
- Lead annual audits, monitoring reviews, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Supervise and mentor finance staff, fostering professional growth and accountability.
- Partner with program leaders to build financial capacity across departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, MBA, or advanced degree strongly preferred).
- 7+ years of nonprofit financial management experience, including federal grants.
- Knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit audits, and 2 CFR Part 200.
- Strong experience with cost allocation, indirect costs, and grant management.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex information clearly.
