Akkodis is seeking a – “Business Operations Manager” for a Contract position with a client located in San Jose, CA (Hybrid).
Pay Range: $50-$55/hr. (The rate/salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.).
Position Overview
The Financial Operations BizOps team within Cisco’s Workplace Technology Group Networking organization owns WTG Networking Budget Planning Process, Budget Execution & Results. We are seeking a Business Operations Manager to support day-to-day data and analytics needs of budget owners (VP, SVP). This role will enable data-driven decision making across cross-functional teams (Engineering Leaders, Business Operations Leaders, Finance Analysts/Controllers) by partnering with senior stakeholders to invest, spend, track, and report—delivering accurate, relevant, and timely budget visibility while driving OPEX/HC budget targets within +/- 0.1%.
Key Responsibilities
Planning
• Support Engineering Budget Planning Process in conjunction with Finance
• Execute OPEX/CAPEX Budget Planning and review allocation of spend to HC, Outside Services, Discretionary and non-Discretionary areas
• Identify quarterly budget shortfalls/opportunities for investment
• Perform vendor management, contingent labour reviews, and stakeholder inter-locks
Execution
• Help business achieve OPEX & HC budget targets within +/- 0.1%
• Support BAN / Budget Tool Management and Procurement Support Process
• Build, support and share forecast models
• Support accruals & x-charge processing
• Provide relevant, accurate, timely budget data for faster business decision making
• Perform contractor conversion analysis
Reporting
• Provide accurate, relevant, & timely budget visibility (VP, SVP)
• Deliver business analysis of budget spend results
• Work cross-functionally to deliver VP/SVP & Budget Owner dashboards (OPEX/HC)
• Enable self-help business analytics: Top Supplier Spend, Top Traveller Spend
• Drive Hierarchy Clean-up (re-orgs)
• Influence optimization of tools & processes
Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Leadership
• Plan, perform, and implement process improvement initiatives across Planning, Execution, and Reporting
• Diagram and evaluate existing budget, procurement, and reporting processes
• Organize, lead, and facilitate cross-functional project teams (internal BizOps, external Finance/HR)
• Develop metrics and KPIs for process measurement and future improvement opportunities
• Collect data to identify root causes of budget variances or process gaps
• Measure performance against requirements and align improvements to shortfalls
• Provide consultation on re-engineering techniques to improve speed, accuracy, and quality
• Survey and analyze best practices for budget planning, execution, and reporting
• Communicate team progress and perform cost/benefit analyses
• Use Cisco AI tools to improve the processes and outcomes
• Individual contributor
Minimum Requirements (“Must Have” Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in business process improvement, Lean/Six Sigma projects, or operations analysis within a medium to large-scale enterprise environment
• Proven proficiency in:
– Process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, or Miro)
– Data analysis tools (Excel pivot tables, Tableau/Power BI dashboards, SAP BO)
Desired Skills/Qualifications (“Nice to Have”)
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification with demonstrated application on 2+ projects resulting in >$500K annualized savings
• 3+ years of experience with Cisco internal systems:
– SAP BO
– Ariba
– PowerBI Dashboards
• Advanced statistical analysis skills using Python/R for process capability (CpK) and modeling
