We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to provide steady financial leadership for a manufacturing organization in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is a Long-term Contract opportunity suited for a confident, hands-on executive who can maintain continuity, assess the finance function, and support a well-performing business during an interim period. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, executive presence, and the ability to oversee core financial operations while identifying areas that may require attention.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the company’s finance function during the contract period, ensuring stability and consistent executive oversight.
• Direct cash flow planning and capital management activities to support healthy liquidity and disciplined financial operations.
• Oversee month-end close activities and confirm that financial results are accurate, timely, and well documented.
• Prepare and review financial reports for leadership and stakeholders, providing clear insight into business performance.
• Evaluate existing financial processes and business systems to identify risks, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement.
• Partner with ownership and internal leadership to support informed decision-making and maintain financial transparency.
• Monitor the company’s overall financial position, including cash balances and operational performance, to help preserve a strong foundation.
• Establish an effective on-site presence and build confidence across the organization through calm, credible leadership.
• Prior experience serving as a CFO or senior financial executive within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in cash flow analysis, capital management, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to step into an interim or contract leadership role and provide immediate stability.
• Familiarity with private equity-backed organizations is helpful.
• Experience reviewing finance operations and business systems to uncover issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Executive presence with a measured, experienced leadership style and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week with regular on-site presence in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
