Chief Financial Officer

Reports To: CEO Work Schedule: General business hours Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:30; evening and weekend availability required
Position Overview
This is the top finance and accounting position of the Company and is a key member of the executive leadership team. He or she serves as the financial authority and the chief financial spokesperson for the Company. He or she provides financial stewardship, strategic leadership, compliance expertise, and executive partnerships across the Company. He or she is responsible for directing the fiscal functions in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry (this includes the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, NASDAQ, and other regulatory and advisory organizations). This position is responsible for role modeling the Company’s core values of passion, partnership, integrity, and fun with purpose.
Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting
- Ensures the integrity of all fiscal data to include transparency and accountability
- Leads the development and implementation of the Company’s short and long-range financial plans
- Develops and directs the overall financial strategies and accounting practices in alignment with the Company’s business objectives
- Serves a key role in developing business strategy, fostering innovation, and driving growth
- Understands capital markets and the business/economic environments in which we operate
- Participates in capital market development, including participation in road shows, bank meetings, and analyst meetings
- Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs, and evaluates the organization’s fiscal functions and performance
- Ensures timely financial and statistical reporting for management, investors and/or the Board of Directors
- Studies economic trends and monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances
- Oversees the team responsible for leading and managing the financial forecast and the G&A budgeting process
- Provides technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline and our partners in the field
- Optimizes the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization’s needs
- Oversees effective internal controls are in place to eliminate waste and ensure security and compliance.
Stakeholders
- Collaborates with key stakeholders within and external to the Company
- Communicates with stakeholders (creditors, shareholders, and others) not only financial conditions and operating performance of the company, but our risks and strategies
- Provides stakeholder education and communications
- Leads the development and implementation of the Company’s investor relations strategy, and fosters positive investor relationships and communications

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required. Master’s degree in business administration or Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of financial management experience to include a minimum of three years of experience in a more progressively responsible leadership position (such as a Controller, Vice President of Finance or Chief Financial Officer level). Experience in a publicly traded position a must. Experience in the restaurant setting. chain retail or hospitality operation preferred.
- Proficiency in Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint/TEAMS and comfort with databases and web-based processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Solid working knowledge of budgeting, sales, business development, and strategic planning.
- Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies.
