CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness (SACADA)

Location: San Antonio, TX | Type: Full-Time | Exempt

Salary Range: $120,000 - $125,000

Job Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports to the CEO and oversees SACADA’s financial operations, ensuring long-term financial health and sustainability. The CFO strengthens investment and finance practices to align with organizational values and expand community investment. As part of the Leadership Team, the CFO helps secure and manage funds, resources, and financial systems that advance SACADA’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

Develop and implement financial strategies that support mission, growth, stability, and community impact.
Partner closely with the CEO, Finance Committee, and Leadership Team on strategic initiatives.
Oversee all financial operations: accounting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and compliance.
Ensure accurate financial records and strong internal controls.
Lead audit and regulatory compliance processes.
Present financial reports and recommendations to the CEO and Board.
Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and financial partners.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Lead the annual budget process in collaboration with program leaders.
Monitor performance vs. budget and provide regular updates.
Maintain forecasting models to support long-term planning.

Strategic Planning & Leadership

Collaborate with senior leaders on strategic plans, policies, and financial goals.
Support the Finance Committee with analysis, risk assessment, and guidance.
Lead and mentor the finance team.
Represent SACADA at internal and external meetings as a financial leader.

Tax Filing & Compliance

Oversee all tax filings and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Coordinate with auditors and financial service providers to meet reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred).
10+ years of progressive financial management experience, including 5+ in nonprofits.
Proven ability in financial strategy, budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Commitment to SACADA’s mission, teamwork, and mentorship.

Proficiency with financial systems.
Understanding of GAAP-basis accounting required.
