About Us
Scooter Your Way is building a micromobility platform with a straightforward mission: give cities dependable, affordable scooters that actually solve problems instead of creating them. We’re early—no revenue yet and raising our first outside capital—but we’re organized, serious, and moving with purpose. The groundwork is set, and now we’re tightening every bolt before stepping in front of investors.
What We’re Looking For
We need someone who doesn’t flinch at early-stage realities. You’re comfortable stepping into a company that’s still being built brick by brick. You know how to bring financial discipline, you’ve seen what investors respond to, and you’re not guessing—your experience shows it. If you bring genuine investor connections you’ve built over the years, that’s a real advantage.
Your Role
You’ll serve as our top financial leader, managing our VP of Finance (who reports directly to you). He’s already put together the foundation of our financial model. Your job is to step in, finish it, strengthen it, and make sure it’s tight enough to withstand any investor’s questions.
Key Responsibilities
• Finalize and polish our full 5-year financial model, including revenue projections, cash flow, P&L, cost structure, and break-even analysis.
• Review, refine, and complete the work already started by the VP of Finance.
• Build financial reporting standards and budgeting discipline from the ground up.
• Prepare investor-facing materials: financial sections of the pitch deck, business plan, and data room.
• Join investor discussions alongside the CEO and guide the financial narrative.
• Optional but valuable: use your investor network for warm introductions.
• Advise on long-term capital strategy—equity, debt, grants, and strategic partnerships.
• Set the foundation for a scalable finance department as the company grows.
Qualifications
• Proven experience leading finance in early-stage startups (pre-seed to Series A ideal).
• Strong modeling skills—unit economics, forecasting, scenario planning, full financial statements.
• Comfortable building financial infrastructure from scratch.
• Deep understanding of what investors expect at this stage.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and work hands-on until the team grows.
• Prior capital-raising experience is a major plus.
Compensation
We’re early and upfront about it. Compensation will be equity-heavy until funding is secured. As capital comes in, a competitive salary will be added. This role is for someone who wants to help build the company, not just join one.
How to Apply
If you believe you’re a genuinely strong fit—and you’ve got the experience to take a five-year plan from rough outline to investor-ready—reach out directly to Evan Thams on LinkedIn. Only apply if you have the depth and discipline to bring our financial plan, pitch deck, and business plan into full alignment on a timely schedule
