Our client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join their team in New York, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all financial planning and analysis functions, including annual operating and capital budget development.
- Partner with the CEO and department heads to set budgets, sales targets, and ongoing financial projections.
- Drive quarterly and monthly forecasting processes and support long-term strategic planning with the executive team.
- Approve and oversee sales targets across retail, e-commerce, and wholesale channels.
- Build and monitor KPIs to identify growth opportunities and proactively address performance gaps.
- Deliver detailed monthly and quarterly financial reports, including P&L reviews, expense analyses, and overall business performance assessments.
- Highlight risks and opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations to support business decisions.
- Manage banking relationships and ensure accurate cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
- Oversee the accounting function to maintain timely, precise financial reporting and controls.
- Identify operational risks and implement internal controls to safeguard performance.
- Guide and manage the company’s IT roadmap and related initiatives.
- Build financial models to evaluate new business opportunities, capital investments, and potential expansion across products, channels, and markets.
- Develop a multi-year retail growth strategy.
- Review and help negotiate contracts, leases, financial agreements, insurance documents, and other legal materials.
- Serve as the main liaison for tax matters, coordinating with external tax partners to ensure compliant and timely reporting.
- Support preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax filings.
- Create financial materials for investor updates, including forecasts, dashboards, and KPI reporting.
- Act as a central point of contact for lenders, ensuring smooth communication and information flow.
Qualifications:
- More than 12 years of increasing leadership responsibility within the fashion, retail, or consumer goods sectors.
- A minimum of 3 years managing finance and accounting functions in a growing organization; experience in a startup environment is a strong plus.
- Deep expertise in corporate finance, accounting standards, investor relations, and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated background working with retail store operations, wholesale channels, and e-commerce business models.
- Strong analytical thinker with a strategic approach and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
