This position is a fractional/temporary/contract role for a range of 3 to 6 months. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key executive leader responsible for overseeing all financial results, strategic planning, and capital market activities of the company. The CFO will ensure financial stability, foster growth, and optimize investment strategies for a portfolio of manufactured home communities and RV resorts. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will play a critical role in financial reporting, investor relations, risk management, and capital allocation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and REIT-specific requirements.
Key areas of focus include the following:
Operations & Risk Management:
• Responsible for all financial results including month-end close, audits, budgets, forecasts, etc.
• Lead cash flow management liquidity planning including capital call/distribution requests.
• Collaborate with operational teams to optimize rent collections, expense management, and community profitability.
• Champion operational excellence through collaboration, process improvement, leveraging best practices, and promoting automation and technology to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Assess organizational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure a system of controls to minimize risk.
Capital Markets & Investor Relations:
• Manage relationships with investors and financial institutions.
• Communicate financial insights and strategies to the board of directors.
• Participate in equity and debt financing activities to support company growth and acquisitions.
• Manage the allocation of capital across various investment opportunities and existing properties.
• Monitor financial market trends and assess its impact on company performance.
Acquisitions & Growth Strategy:
• Participate in due diligence and valuation analysis for acquisitions and joint ventures.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies within the portfolio.
Qualifications
• 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO or senior finance role within real estate, REITs or manufactured housing.
• Experience with complex organization structures with varying ownership interests.
• Strong background in real estate finance, capital markets, and REIT compliance.
• Experience with SEC reporting, GAAP accounting, and tax regulations for REITs.
• Proven track record in debt and equity financing, investor relations, and financial modeling.
• M&A experience, including due diligence, valuation, and deal structuring.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
