Fractional CFO — Marketing Agency
Overview
We’re looking for a strategic, data-driven Fractional CFO to partner with our leadership team. This role is responsible for building financial clarity across the agency — constantly monitoring margins, profitability, cash flow, and overall financial health — and helping us make smarter, faster decisions rooted in numbers.
You’ll work closely with operations, sales, and leadership to ensure every client, department, and service line is profitable and scalable.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Profitability
- Build and manage monthly financial dashboards focused on profit, cash, and margins.
- Analyze agency profitability by client, service line, and department.
- Identify where margins are slipping — and recommend pricing, staffing, or process changes.
- Develop financial models for revenue forecasting and growth planning.
- Advise on when to hire, when to slow spending, and where to reinvest.
Cash Flow & Budgeting
- Create and maintain an agency cash-flow plan.
- Monitor burn rate, runway, and recurring vs. one-time revenue.
- Build annual and quarterly budgets and hold teams accountable to them.
- Oversee expense controls and vendor spending.
Pricing & Margins
- Evaluate pricing structure across services and retainer packages.
- Ensure labor, software, and overhead costs fit within target margins.
- Help create profit-first workflows and discipline in the business.
Financial Visibility & Reporting
- Deliver clear financial reports monthly (not just accounting statements).
- Turn numbers into insights, recommendations, and action plans.
- Establish KPIs the entire leadership team can track.
Risk, Compliance & Systems
- Work with CPA/bookkeeper to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Improve financial systems, tools, and processes for real-time clarity.
- Support funding, loans, or credit strategies when needed.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $1,500.00 - $5,000.00 per month
Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
