Role Overview
The Sales Operations Analyst plays a critical role in enabling sales leadership to operate with confidence by ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of sales data. This position serves as the owner of Salesforce data integrity, reporting, and analytics, delivering clear, actionable insights that support forecasting, pipeline management, and strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in sales operations and Salesforce reporting. This role partners closely with Sales Leadership, Finance, and Revenue stakeholders to transform raw sales data into trusted, decision-grade insights and to establish Salesforce as the single source of truth across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain Salesforce data integrity across all sales objects, including leads, accounts, contacts, opportunities, and activities.
- Administer day-to-day Salesforce operations, including configuration support, field and layout management, data hygiene, validation rules, and routine data quality audits.
- Design, develop, and maintain executive-level dashboards and reports for senior leadership, including the Chief Revenue Officer, Sales Leadership, Finance, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead the migration from manual, Excel-based reporting to scalable, automated Salesforce reporting, replacing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports with standardized dashboards.
- Prepare and distribute weekly forecasting views, including forecast snapshots, pipeline changes, and week-over-week trend analysis.
- Analyze pipeline performance, including coverage, velocity, slippage, risk, upside, and deal progression across stages.
- Support global sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and operating cadences by providing accurate, structured, and decision-ready reporting.
- Maintain and continuously improve sales process documentation, Salesforce usage standards, and reporting definitions to ensure consistency, clarity, and adoption.
- Own Salesforce-related onboarding processes, ensuring new hires receive appropriate system access, reporting visibility, and training materials.
- Support sales engagement and activity tracking tools (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach), ensuring alignment with defined sales processes and accurate reporting of activities.
- Reconcile monthly bookings, pipeline, and revenue data between Salesforce and Finance systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Proactively identify data inconsistencies, reporting gaps, and process breakdowns, driving corrective actions at the source.
- Eliminate shadow systems, offline trackers, and redundant reporting tools, reinforcing Salesforce as the authoritative system of record.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and Revenue teams to support ad hoc analysis, strategic initiatives, and ongoing operational improvements.
- Perform additional duties and projects as required to support sales and revenue operations.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales operations, revenue operations, sales analytics, or a related function.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience working with Salesforce, including reporting, dashboards, data management, and sales operations support.
- Experience supporting or directly working with quota-carrying sales roles; prior quota-carrying experience is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of sales pipelines, forecasting methodologies, sales stages, and revenue cadences.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy, integrity, and quality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to senior leadership.
- Comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
