Job Description and KRA’s
1. Governance, Controls & Approvals
- Oversee financial governance frameworks and ensure adherence to internal controls.
- Approve purchase orders (POs) after verifying margins, terms, and documentation.
- Authorize invoices and payments while ensuring process compliance and audit trails.
- Approve significant expenditures and financial commitments in line with company policy.
- Act as an advisor to management on financial risks, investments, and key business decisions.
2. Cash Flow, Banking & Treasury
- Plan, monitor, and optimize cash flow to ensure business continuity.
- Approve creditor payments based on due dates, cash position, and priorities.
- Manage banking relationships, negotiations, and credit facilities.
- Lead forex negotiations to minimize currency risk and optimize conversion rates.
- Oversee CC limit renewal, working closely with banks and financial institutions.
3. Financial Planning & Reporting:
- Drive revenue projections and financial forecasting, aligned with business targets.
- Monitor budget vs. actual performance and highlight variances proactively.
- Ensure accurate and timely Internal MIS reporting for leadership decision-making.
- Support strategic planning with financial insights and scenario analysis.
4. Accounting Accuracy & Controls:
- Ensure correct accounting entries, classification, and effect in systems (Tally).
- Oversee ledger scrutiny, monthly closing, and year-end finalization.
- Monitor inventory valuation, variance analysis, and reconciliation processes.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of all accounts and schedules.
5. Audits & Statutory Oversight
- Lead statutory audit and coordinate with external auditors.
- Manage income tax audits and ensure responses to authorities are accurate and timely.
- Ensure complete compliance with statutory filings, tax returns, GST, TDS, PF/ESI and other applicable laws.
- Maintain up-to-date awareness of regulatory changes and implement necessary process updates.
6. Investor & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare financial presentations and updates for investors, lenders, and the Board.
- Maintain strong investor confidence through transparent financial communication.
- Support funding, valuation, and capital allocation discussions as required.
7. Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to build strong functional capability.
- Drive cross-departmental coordination to ensure alignment of finance with business goals.
- Establish a culture of accuracy, integrity, and accountability across the finance function.
8. Advisory & Strategic Partnering
- Play an advisory role to management on profitability improvement, cost control, and financial strategy.
- Evaluate business proposals, contracts, and investments from a financial perspective.
- Support business expansion, restructuring, and financial risk management initiatives.
An Ideal candidate shall be:
- 5+ years of experience in Finance Controller
- Ability to organize and prioritize work for timely completion
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Able and willing to maintain strict level of confidentiality
- Excellent computer skills
