Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the corporation’s financial and accounting systems, including developing, recommending, implementing, and monitoring financial plans and policies. Assists in developing, monitoring, and implementing robust internal controls to help protect the Bank and its subsidiaries. Lead Accounting Department in all Accounting and bookkeeping functions.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic direction.
- Develops organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and system enhancement; accumulating capital to fund expansion.
- Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans.
- Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
- Maximize return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities, maintaining relationships with the investment community.
- Report financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing variances; developing improvements.
- Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, GAAP, SEC reporting and SOX 404; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Risk Management
- Achieve corporate risk financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing, and completing action plans.
- Meets corporate risk financial objectives by forecasting requirements.
- Assists the Bank’s Audit Committee by providing management oversight of the Internal Audit Coordinator and working with the external firms engaged to perform Internal Audits to assure: the approved Audit Schedule stays on track, managers are engaged in the audit process, internal control weaknesses are addressed timely, and corrective actions are validated.
- Updates corporate risk job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.

Requirements
Education, Training and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, MBA highly preferred.
- CPA highly preferred.
- Mortgage Accounting experience required.
- CFO from a financial institution highly preferred.
- Management/leadership experience required.
- 10+ years of related experience required.
