Allen Austin has been retained by a high-growth, multi-entity industrial organization to identify a high-impact Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive leadership team during a pivotal period of transformation and expansion. This client is a leading master distributor of mission-critical industrial products with domestic manufacturing capabilities and a national footprint supporting customers across industrial and energy-related markets.
With $1.5B+ in revenue and 20+ U.S. locations, the organization is preparing for significant corporate activity, including strategic acquisitions and divestitures. The CFO will play a central role in driving financial strategy, operational discipline, and enterprise value creation across the enterprise, while remaining hands-on in a fast-paced industrial environment.
The Role
The CFO will lead all core financial functions including accounting, tax, treasury, credit & collections, and FP&A, while partnering closely with operations, sales, and business unit leaders to drive performance and profitability. This is a highly hands-on role requiring strong working capital management, given the company’s significant inventory and accounts receivable profile.
Key Priorities
- Drive margin improvement through pricing strategy, cost optimization, and operational insight
- Strengthen forecasting, cash flow management, and internal controls to support scalable growth
- Lead financial diligence and integration for M&A activity, including synergy realization
- Advance ERP and business intelligence utilization to improve reporting and visibility
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team with a culture of accountability and partnership
Ideal Candidate Profile

- Senior finance leadership experience in industrial distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain-intensive environments
- Proven ability to operate in a lean, entrepreneurial, performance-driven culture
- Demonstrated success leading M&A readiness and post-deal integration
- Strong commercial orientation and cross-functional partnership capabilities
- Deep expertise in GAAP, treasury, working capital, inventory valuation, and performance management
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
