Position Overview:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic financial oversight and guidance. This role will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and risk management while collaborating closely with the Board of Directors and senior leadership to support organizational growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization’s mission and long-term goals.
Partner with the Executive Director and leadership team on strategic planning, program evaluation, and organizational growth initiatives.
Oversee grant management, donor reporting, and fund accounting.
Ensure strong internal controls, risk management, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Provide timely, accurate, and insightful financial analysis to guide decision-making.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
Support Board committees with financial presentations, dashboards, and actionable insights.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within non-profit organizations.
Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting principles, fund accounting, and grant management.
Proven ability to develop and execute strategic financial plans and manage complex budgets.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Experience with financial systems/ERP implementation and reporting (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar).
Commitment to the mission of the organization and understanding of the non-profit sector.
