Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

We are partnered with an established mid-sized professional services organization in Los Angeles that is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team.

This is a newly created role driven by continued growth and the need to further strengthen financial operations, reporting, and long-term strategic planning. The organization is stable, growing, and focused on modernizing its financial infrastructure.

The Opportunity

The CFO will serve as a strategic and hands-on financial leader, responsible for guiding financial planning, improving operational efficiency, leading system modernization efforts, and supporting growth initiatives. This role requires both executive-level strategy and operational involvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning
Oversee accounting, financial reporting, cash flow, and treasury functions
Drive ERP selection and implementation to modernize financial operations
Develop dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level reporting
Improve month-end close processes, collections, and cash management
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable industry regulations
Support acquisitions, geographic expansion, and new service lines
Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team
Maintain strong internal controls and fraud prevention practices

Ideal Background

10+ years in senior finance leadership (CFO, VP of Finance, Corporate Controller)
Experience within mid-sized organizations
Proven success leading finance teams of 10+
Hands-on leadership style with strong operational capability
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
CPA and/or MBA preferred
Professional services or project-based business experience preferred
ERP and enterprise systems experience a plus
