The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Client Coverage Group (CCG) and Chief Operating Office (COO) is a “dual hatted” Managing Director level position based in Boston and responsible for the development and execution of the financial strategy for the CCG and COO businesses of State Street Investment Management (SSIM).
This key Managing Director level leadership position will partner with global and regional sales leadership as well as the COO for the IM business to ensure that their organizations’ results are reported accurately and in a transparent and timely manner. The incumbent will also ensure that there is accountability and sound tracking and measurements for all projects. This role will report directly to the IM CFO.
SSIM is the asset management division of State Street and is the fourth largest asset manager in the world, with ~$5.7 trillion in assets under management, including close to $2 trillion in ETFs. What You Will Be Responsible For
As MD CFO for CCG and COO you will
- Be responsible for designing and executing the strategic financial management priorities for the CCG and COO businesses, including planning and budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, pricing, and client profitability
- In partnership with business leaders, monitor all aspects of financial tracking of strategic investments pertaining to the both businesses
- Act as key partner to the HR Business Partner focusing on Sales Incentives plan administration, calculation and reviews and Talent Acquisition offers
- Manage a global Finance team of mostly indirect reports, as well as various senior leader stakeholder relationships to improve the standard of financial analytics and reporting and bring transparency to the financial statements for the CCG and COO business leaders
- As a key member of the IM Finance leadership team (Core Group), be responsible for providing input to the IM CFO and other IM Finance leaders to identify strategic risks and opportunities and recommend courses of action
- Lead productivity, pricing and profitability exercises
- Partner with the IM Central FP&A team on budgeting, forecasting and multi-year strategic planning process as well as month to month P&L variance analysis and quarterly earnings deliverables to Investor Relations
- Partner with the Global Accounting Organization (GAO) group to improve timeliness and accuracy in the financial statements.
- As an MD and senior finance leader you will serve on various business committees and hold a number of legal entity and fund board administrative roles
- Attract, develop, motivate and retain a diverse next generation of Finance talent

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Broad Finance & Accounting global leadership experience with 15+ years of experience, including FP&A experience, working in financial services
- Experience overseeing business unit planning and budgeting process, and experience with management reporting processes
- Experience managing large global teams
- Has served as a key advisor to senior business leaders and Finance executives
- Proven and successful track record of implementing key financial and business priorities
- Asset Management experience a plus

Salary Range:
$170,000 - $267,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
