The Chief Financial Officer is a senior operating executive responsible for the company’s financial management, capital structure, and reporting discipline. The CFO partners closely with the CEO and leadership team to support growth, manage risk, and ensure the business is financially sound as it scales.
This role oversees cash flow, capital allocation, financial reporting, and controls, while helping move the company from founder-led execution to more durable operating systems. Industry background is less important than judgment, practicality, and the ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, imperfect environments.

Core Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO on strategy, growth priorities, and capital decisions
- Own cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Provide analysis to support pricing, expansion, and cost structure decisions
- Oversee accounting, close, and financial reporting with accuracy and timeliness
- Implement and scale financial systems, controls, and internal processes
- Manage relationships with banks, lenders, auditors, and capital partners
- Establish clear capital allocation and financial discipline across the business
- Ensure compliance with tax, financial, and regulatory requirements
- Lead financial diligence for acquisitions, partnerships, and special projects
- Prepare the company for financings, restructurings, or future liquidity events

Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience
- Prior CFO or senior finance role in growth-stage or founder-led companies
- Experience in consumer, retail, or operationally complex businesses preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage cash-constrained or capital-sensitive environments
- Strong judgment, hands-on approach, and comfort with ambiguity
Working Conditions
Positions in this class require: typing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects while completing essential functions. This position is comprised of sedentary work, which involves sitting at a computer most of the workday; walking and standing are required only occasionally. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, handling smartphone devices, and reading extensively. The office environment is climate controlled and little outside activity.
