Health Benefits - CalPERS health insurance offering variety of HMO's and PPO's. The District contributes 92% of the health plan premium, and the employee is responsible for the remaining 8% of the premium for the whole family up to $3,005.91 per month. Dental and vision insurance are also paid by the District.
Life Insurance - $20,000 for the first probationary year and $100,000 thereafter.

Under general direction of the Director of Information Technology, manages and supports various software applications with an emphasis in Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. Identifies specific user requirements and recommends appropriate applications or modifications, provides project management and technical guidance for software implementation and maintenance.

- Conduct business analysis, evaluate business processes, determine business needs, and identify requirements for business applications.
- Assist departments in defining requirements for proposed business applications, reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business applications and user needs, and translating business objectives into application requirements.
- Research, plan, install, configure and test new application systems and interfaces. Maintain and upgrade existing application systems and interfaces, apply software updates to applications and schedule periodic maintenance outages.
- Track functional upgrades in new releases of software; inform users of maintenance windows, educate users regarding process changes and implement new functionality upon request.
- Test interfaces and customizations after quarterly Oracle Fusion Cloud updates have been applied.
- Set up and maintain application-level security; develop and administer security definitions and profiles.
- Configure, maintain, and support custom programming within applications.
- Manage application lifecycle and understand application’s roadmap.
- Prepare and maintain user documentation for various applications.
- Prepare, review and analyze reports.
- Work closely with divisions to analyze and evaluate present or proposed business procedures or problems to define enterprise application needs.
- Communicate application problems and issues to end users.
- Provide and/or ensure follow up on trouble calls and tickets. Correspond with or meet with staff and vendors as needed to understand and resolve concerns.
- Research and analyze information, anticipate and recognize problems and opportunities, creatively develop possible solutions, evaluate alternatives and determine best course of action.
- Design and develop solution testing plans, strategies and quality management tools to ensure appropriate results prior to final implementation. Review solution defects and makes strategy adjustments as needed, plan implementation timeline.
- Serve as a liaison between end users, the Information Technology division, 3rd party support and vendors.
- Develop and participate in the development of Request for Proposal, Quote, or Information. Participate in the selection and assist with the oversight of consultants and vendors.
- Provide project management, develop project plans and detailed project objectives, develop and guide project timelines, assess and manage risks, manage issues, assist with project budgets. Coordinate implementation of the system software, including conversion of data to new systems.
- Perform installation and configuration duties and related data migration, conversion, and maintenance and extraction work, implement and maintain databases, database tables and database objects, develop database scripts as needed for assigned systems.
- Perform configuration, testing and troubleshooting for interfaces that support assigned systems.
- Monitor automated system processes, monitor logs and files for evidence of problems or application failures, ensure business resumption after application failures.
- Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
The education or experience requirements may be modified or waived at the sole discretion of the Fire Chief. At least one of the education or experience requirements must be met; both requirements cannot be modified or waived. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District Board of Directors shall be notified of any such modifications or waivers.

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Education And Experience
Education must be obtained through a post-secondary institution currently accredited by any accreditation body recognized by either the Counsel for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or the United States Department of Education. Documentation showing completion of Bachelor's Degree (either unofficial transcript or diploma) must be included at the time of application submittal.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or another field with demonstrable applicability to the requirements and responsibilities of this position, as well as three (3) years managing, configuring and supporting software applications.
- Three (3) years + working with Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.
Desirable
- Experience in Information Technology in the public sector field.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud system modules and business processes in finance, accounting, budgeting, human resources, and payroll.
- Familiarity with the overall capabilities of Software as Service (SaaS) and cloud-based applications from a customer’s perspective, including roles and responsibilities of the vendor versus the District.
- Knowledge of principles and practices in: general ledger, billing, procurement, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, bank management, budget management, core human resources, position control, leave management, compensation, benefits administration, time tracking, payroll, financial reporting and regulatory reporting.
- Ability to create, review, and modify Oracle Fast Formulas.
- Knowledge of Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
