About the Role
A private equity–backed, lender-financed, multi-site (more than 100 locations) consumer services company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead enterprise finance during a critical operating transformation.
This role is designed for a CFO who has personally owned budgeting, forecasting, lender reporting, and board-facing financial leadership in a field-based, unit-economics-driven business. The mandate is not M&A-led growth or financial engineering. It is about running a disciplined finance operation that supports operators, informs the Board, and holds the organization to clear financial plans.
The CFO will report directly to the CEO and serve as the senior financial voice in executive and board-level planning discussions.
What This CFO Is Accountable For
Planning, Forecasting & Board Leadership
- Own and lead the annual budget, rolling forecast, and long-range plan, with full accountability for accuracy, timeliness, and credibility
- Personally prepare and present board-level financial materials, including performance drivers, risks, and forward-looking scenarios
- Translate operating realities into a clear, consistent financial narrative used by leadership and the Board
Operational Finance & Unit Economics
- Drive cash EBITDA through pricing discipline, labor efficiency, SG&A control, and unit-level margin improvement
- Partner directly with Operations and field leaders to improve location-level accountability
- Oversee CAC tracking and profitability analytics in collaboration with Marketing
- Implement KPIs and dashboards that are used weekly and monthly by operators—not just finance
Lender Relations & Capital Discipline
- Serve as the primary owner of lender relationships, credit agreements, covenant compliance, and reporting
- Manage liquidity, covenant forecasting, and downside scenarios with rigor
- Communicate proactively and credibly with lenders, supported by accurate models and forecasts
Finance Organization & Infrastructure
- Lead all finance and accounting functions including FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, audit, and compliance
- Ensure on-time closes, clean audits, and reliable reporting
- Build a lean, execution-oriented finance team enabled by automation and systems—not headcount growth

This role is intended for CFOs who have run finance inside complex, decentralized operating businesses, not advisory or portfolio roles.
Required Experience
- Sitting CFO with direct ownership of:
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Lender reporting and covenant compliance
- Board-facing financial presentations
- Experience in a debt-backed, multi-location, consumer or services business
- Track record of improving profitability through operational partnership, not one-time initiatives

Strongly Preferred
- Experience in funeral/deathcare, healthcare services, retail services, home services, hospitality, or similar unit-economics-driven models
- Hands-on involvement in pricing strategy and cost structure decisions
- CFOs who have scaled or rebuilt financial discipline in an evolving operating model
This Role Is Not a Fit For
- CFOs whose primary background is M&A, deal execution, or portfolio oversight
- Finance leaders without direct lender ownership
- Executives who have not personally led budgeting and forecasting processes end-to-end
- Pure public-company reporting CFOs without field-based operating exposure
Leadership Style
- Strategic storyteller grounded in operational truth
- Direct, transparent, and disciplined
- Comfortable being close to the data and the field
- Trusted by CEOs, Boards, operators, and lenders alike
Compensation
Competitive base salary, performance-based bonus, and long-term equity aligned with EBITDA growth and enterprise value creation.
