Overview
PENNEP is seeking a Head of Business Operations candidate to join our client's team, who will lead the operational strategy, systems, and execution required to deliver exceptional learner experiences and support organisational growth within the EdTech ecosystem. This executive role ensures that digital learning products, instructional services, and academic operations are efficient, scalable, compliant, and aligned with the organization’s mission of transforming education through innovation. The ideal leader combines operational excellence with a strong understanding of educational technology, learner engagement, and program delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute operational strategies that support educational products, digital platform performance, and long‑term growth objectives.
- Optimise learning delivery workflows, student support processes, academic operations, and platform operations to ensure seamless learner journeys.
- Establish KPIs, benchmarks, and learning analytics dashboards to evaluate operational effectiveness, learner outcomes, and business performance.
- Oversee the operational performance and scalability of digital learning platforms, ensuring reliability, uptime, and smooth feature deployment.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Instructional Design teams to support platform enhancements, content delivery systems, and user experience improvements.
- Implement operational tools and technologies that support learning engagement, automation, and data‑driven decision making.
- Design and optimize processes that enhance learner onboarding, course access, engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
- Work with academic, curriculum, and program teams to ensure operational readiness for new courses, training programs, certifications, and digital offerings.
- Monitor learner success metrics and execute operational interventions to support outcomes and reduce friction points.
- Ensure compliance with EdTech‑related regulations and standards (e.g., FERPA, COPPA, GDPR‑equivalent requirements for learner data).
- Oversee processes for academic quality assurance, instructional compliance, and adherence to industry or accreditation expectations.
- Manage data governance frameworks, ensuring ethical use, security, and privacy of learner information.
- Partner with senior leaders across Product, Content, Academic, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure operational alignment and consistent execution.
- Lead cross‑departmental initiatives focused on platform adoption, digital transformation, and continuous improvement.
- Support the executive team with data insights, operational reporting, and strategic analysis.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation for EdTech operations, ensuring programs are delivered efficiently and sustainably.
- Identify cost optimisation opportunities in content production, platform tools, instructional staffing, and learner support systems.
- Support revenue scalability by building repeatable, efficient operational frameworks for new product launches.
- Build and lead a high‑performing operations team with specialisation in EdTech workflows, learner enablement, data operations, and platform support.
- Drive a culture of innovation, empathy, continuous improvement, and excellence in educational service delivery.
- Lead workforce planning, talent development, and succession strategies aligned with organizational growth.
- Manage relationships with EdTech partners, LMS providers, content vendors, and technology service providers.
- Negotiate agreements and evaluate third‑party solutions that support content delivery, student engagement, and platform scaling.
- Collaborate with educational institutions, training partners, and certification bodies where applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership experience in EdTech, online learning, higher education operations, or digital program delivery.
- Demonstrated success optimizing learning systems, instructional operations, or digital education workflows.
- Strong knowledge of LMS platforms, learning analytics, content delivery systems, and EdTech tools.
- Familiarity with education compliance frameworks and data privacy regulations.
- Excellent communication, cross‑functional leadership, and change management skills.
Education Requirements (EdTech‑Focused)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Educational Technology, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated academic foundation in operations, strategy, or educational systems.
