We are partnering with a private equity–backed software company at a pivotal stage of growth. The business is scaling a mission-critical platform serving a large, complex end market, with significant opportunity for expansion and value creation.
The Chief Financial Officer will lead all financial strategy and operations, reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of the executive leadership team. This role will play a central part in building scalable financial infrastructure, supporting growth initiatives, and partnering closely with leadership on long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
- Own all accounting, financial operations, and reporting, including month-end close, cash management, and financial controls
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, FP&A, financial modeling, and strategic planning
- Ensure accurate and GAAP-compliant revenue recognition across accrual and cash bases
- Oversee audits, compliance initiatives, and readiness for future reporting requirements
Revenue & Financial Operations
- Oversee invoicing, billing accuracy, collections, and revenue reconciliation
- Provide financial oversight for transaction-based revenue streams, including margin analysis and vendor management
- Review third-party financial and processing invoices to ensure compliance with commercial terms
Tax, Payroll & Compliance
- Manage federal and state tax filings in partnership with external advisors
- Coordinate R&D tax credit programs as applicable
- Oversee payroll, benefits, compensation, PTO, and related compliance for both domestic and international team members
Investor & Executive Partnership
- Lead investor reporting, cash management, banking relationships, and capitalization tracking
- Develop and report key financial and operating metrics for internal and external stakeholders
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, providing insight that informs business direction
Cross-Functional & Customer Support
- Support financial system integrations and internal reporting tools
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop clear, actionable financial reporting
- Represent the company’s financial capabilities in select commercial and strategic discussions
Profile & Qualifications
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting background
- Senior finance leadership experience within a high-growth software or technology company
- Deep understanding of recurring revenue models, unit economics, and SaaS metrics
- Proven ability to influence company strategy through financial leadership
- Experience with transaction-based or payments-adjacent revenue models preferred
- Highly execution-oriented, detail-driven, and comfortable operating in fast-paced environments
- Collaborative leadership style with high integrity and sound judgment
Location: In-person role based in the Dallas, TX area. On-site presence is expected Monday through Friday.
