A Premier League club is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to provide senior financial leadership across the organisation and help drive both performance and long-term sustainability.
As one of the most commercially significant clubs in English football, this organisation operates in a fast-paced, high-profile environment where financial strategy, governance and insight are central to sporting and business success. The CFO will be a key member of the leadership team, partnering with the CEO and executive committee to shape and deliver financial strategy across all areas of the club.
They’re looking for a commercially astute finance leader who can balance robust financial stewardship with strategic business partnership, contributing to ambitious growth both on and off the pitch.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING //
- Leading and evolving the club’s finance function, building a high-performing organisational culture.
- Owning the annual budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes to support strategic decision-making.
- Managing short- and long-term cashflow and capital planning to ensure financial resilience.
- Monitoring and reporting on financial performance, highlighting risks and opportunities to the executive team and board.
- Overseeing audit, compliance, governance and financial controls, ensuring adherence to league, regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Supporting commercial, sporting and operational business units with financial insight and partnership.
- Leading financial planning for strategic initiatives, including investments, infrastructure and revenue growth opportunities.
- Managing key relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, bankers, regulators and advisors.
THE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU NEED //
- Significant senior finance leadership experience, ideally within sport, entertainment, or a complex commercial environment.
- Deep experience in financial planning & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and balance sheet oversight.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance operational rigour and strategic growth.
- Proven experience leading teams and driving change within finance functions.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
- A proactive, resilient mindset and a track record of performing at pace in dynamic, high-stakes environments.
- Professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) are advantageous.
