Role Context
This is a founding leadership position designed for a high-ownership business leader who will take complete operational and commercial responsibility for the organization. The engagement is structured as an equity-based role with no fixed salary until stable and predictable revenue generation is achieved.
The position is fully remote. The selected candidate must have their own IT assets including a laptop/desktop, reliable high-speed internet connectivity, and a professional remote working setup.
Role Overview
The Director of Business Operations will be accountable for driving revenue growth, client acquisition, operational efficiency, financial discipline, and team management. This individual will function as the primary execution leader, converting strategic direction into structured systems, measurable outcomes, and scalable growth.
The role requires a combination of strategic thinking, hands-on execution capability, commercial acumen, and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth & Business Development
- Take full ownership of revenue generation by defining clear short-term and long-term revenue milestones aligned with business objectives.
- Develop structured go-to-market strategies across identified industry segments and service categories.
- Personally lead early-stage enterprise client acquisition efforts including outreach, business pitching, commercial negotiations, and deal closure.
- Establish a disciplined sales pipeline management system with measurable conversion ratios and forecasting visibility.
- Build recurring revenue streams through long-term contracts, repeat business, and structured account expansion strategies.
Client Acquisition & Market Positioning
- Identify and prioritize high-potential customer segments and define structured entry strategies.
- Build strong relationships with corporates, institutional buyers, vendors, and strategic partners to strengthen market credibility.
- Develop frameworks for client retention, performance reviews, and long-term account management.
- Position the organization as a structured, process-driven, and commercially reliable partner rather than a transactional intermediary.
Operations & Service Delivery
- Oversee complete operational execution across all service offerings, ensuring process discipline, documentation accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Design and implement scalable Standard Operating Procedures to support sustainable growth.
- Create operational dashboards to track service timelines, client satisfaction, and execution performance.
- Continuously evaluate and improve workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and maintain transparency.
Financial Management & Sustainability
- Take responsibility for budgeting, revenue forecasting, and cost management.
- Ensure disciplined cash flow planning, especially during early-stage growth cycles.
- Drive margin optimization through pricing strategies, vendor negotiations, and operational efficiencies.
- Build structured financial reporting mechanisms for informed decision-making.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build and manage cross-functional teams across business development, operations, and support functions.
- Establish clear KPIs, performance review mechanisms, and accountability frameworks.
- Develop a culture centered on ownership, professionalism, and measurable performance.
- Identify capability gaps and create leadership depth to support long-term scalability.
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Translate the Founder’s vision into actionable execution plans with defined milestones and timelines.
- Lead quarterly and annual planning cycles with measurable outcome tracking.
- Identify structural inefficiencies and implement corrective strategies proactively.
- Provide structured performance updates and business insights to the Founder for strategic decision-making.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of experience in business operations, revenue leadership, general management, or entrepreneurial environments.
- Demonstrated experience in scaling B2B service-based businesses.
- Strong exposure to enterprise sales, procurement ecosystems, IT services, or operational consulting environments.
- Proven ability to build systems, processes, and teams from early-stage setup to growth phase.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with data-driven decision-making ability.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with long-term commitment toward value creation.
