About the Function
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior leadership role at The/Nudge, responsible for stewarding the organization’s financial health, resilience, and integrity as it scales in size, complexity, and impact. The CFO will act as a strategic partner to the Founder, leadership team, and Board, providing financial insight, robust systems, and strong governance to enable sustainable growth across diverse impact streams.
This role combines strategic finance leadership, hands-on execution, and institution-building, and is critical to enabling The/Nudge’s long-term mission.
Who are we looking for in this role?
1) Strategic Finance & Decision Support

Provide strategic inputs on financial aspects of key organizational and programmatic decisions.

Enable data-driven decision-making by developing and presenting high-quality financial insights to the senior management team.

Partner closely with leadership and impact stream heads on new initiatives, pilots, and scale-up plans.

Support the leadership team in building financial models that enable The/Nudge to scale sustainably.
2) Financial Planning, Budgeting & Reporting

Drive organization-wide budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring processes.

Design, implement, and continuously improve financial planning and reporting systems aligned to the organization’s growth and operational diversity.

Review and analyze monthly financial results, highlighting risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.

Ensure timely, accurate, and transparent reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including management, Board, donors, and regulators.
3) Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure full compliance with applicable direct and indirect tax laws.

Oversee statutory audits, donor audits, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Manage organizational risk, including financial, legal, and compliance risks.

Lead and oversee legal affairs, contracts, and financial controls across the organization.

Provide regular updates to the Board on financial performance, compliance, and regulatory matters.
4) Treasury & Fund Management

Manage funds and treasury operations with a strong focus on optimizing risk, returns, and liquidity.

Establish robust controls for fund utilization, tracking, and reporting across multiple funding sources.

Ensure alignment with donor expectations, regulatory requirements, and best practices in nonprofit financial management.
5) Systems, Processes & Team Leadership

Build and scale strong finance, compliance, and legal teams aligned with The/Nudge’s culture and values.

Leverage technology and digital solutions to improve efficiency, transparency, and scalability of financial processes.

Create systems and processes that can support rapid growth while maintaining financial discipline and governance.

20+ years of experience across startups and/or Tier-1 corporates, with significant leadership exposure.

Strong financial modeling, planning, and analytical skills.

High comfort with technology-enabled financial systems and process automation.

Professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) and/or MBA.
