Robert Half Management Resources is currently looking for an experienced non-profit Accounting/Finance leader to support a client in Columbus, OH. Client is open to an interim fractional CFO (part-time), or a full-time Accounting Manager/Controller level resource with experience preparing leadership-level financial reports. Role will focus on several accounting clean-up and process improvement priorities to include: Improving Cash Flow Forecasting, GL Clean-up, Month-end close process improvements, and Executive Board reporting. Role will work a hybrid schedule based out of the client's location in Columbus.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and stabilize financial operations during a transitional phase for the organization.
• Provide clear and actionable financial insights to support executive decision-making and strategic planning.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity forecasting, and diverse funding sources to ensure financial health.
• Lead month-end close processes, financial reporting, and internal controls with precision and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership and the board of trustees to address financial risks and opportunities.
• Support and guide a finance team of 4-5 individuals, ensuring smooth transitions and strong team performance.
• Utilize the Blackbaud Financial Edge system to manage and optimize financial operations.
• Foster transparency and confidence in financial reporting among stakeholders and leadership.
• Establish risk management practices and evaluate trade-offs to strengthen organizational resilience.
• Act as a steady and pragmatic leader, providing clarity in complex financial situations.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial leadership roles, preferably within non-profit organizations.
• Proven expertise in cash management, liquidity forecasting, and handling diverse funding streams.
• Strong background in month-end close processes, financial reporting, and maintaining internal controls.
• Familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge and Raiser's Edge NXT systems.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate organizational transitions and periods of uncertainty.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present risks and trade-offs clearly.
• Hands-on leadership style with a calm and steady presence.
• Experience partnering with executive teams and boards to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
