Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Provident Credit Union will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, EVP and Board, providing expert financial guidance to drive the organization's financial performance and stability. The CFO will oversee all financial operations, ensuring the integrity of accounting practices, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Essential Functions:

The CFO will lead and direct the financial operations of Provident Credit Union, ensuring the development and implementation of robust financial strategies that align with the organization's goals.

Provide expert advice and recommendations to the CEO and Board on financial issues, leveraging insights to influence strategic decision-making and long-term planning.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, maintaining the integrity and transparency of financial practices within the organization.

Manage and oversee the bank's accounting and risk management processes.

Safeguard the bank's assets through strong internal controls.

Oversee the Accounting, Finance, Risk, Account Services, and Facilities departments, ensuring efficient and effective operations that support the credit union's financial health.

Conduct a final review and assume responsibility for the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.

Collaborate with Senior Leadership to identify and manage financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential impacts on the credit union's operations.

Foster a culture of financial accountability and excellence across the organization, promoting continuous improvement in financial processes and outcomes.

The CFO will represent Provident Credit Union in financial discussions with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and industry partners, to enhance the organization's financial reputation and relationships.

Maintains financial systems and technologies to support data-driven decision-making and process efficiency.

Responsible for the organization’s capital structure, overseeing debt and equity financing, and maintaining optimal liquidity.

Leading the budgeting process and providing reliable financial forecasts to guide organizational decision-making.

Serves as SME regarding budgeting and ensures LT has the education, and tools necessary to make key financial decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Work Experience/Skills & Abilities:

Master’s degree
-
Professional certifications such as CPA or equivalent are preferred.

15 years of progressively responsible experience in Accounting and Finance

5 years of experience at a VP level for a financial institution with at least $3B in assets

Extensive knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial regulations.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams

Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with the CEO, Board, and other stakeholders.

Demonstrated experience in risk management and financial planning.

Ability to oversee complex financial operations and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Compensation:
Pay Grade is EX2. This position is eligible for our twice-a-year discretionary bonus.
Targeted Pay: $217,000 – $288,00/ year (Depending on experience)
