Equifind have partnered with a market leading private equity organisation in London, who are wanting to hire an interim CFO for the next six to nine months, to lead a restructure for a portfolio company.
This is far from a trouble-shooting role, as business operations are in healthy order, so your main responsibilities will be stabilising and improving the financials, whilst creating short and mid-term forecasting credibility for the business.
This will suit a tried and tested interim CFO, who enjoys working with new teams and organisations.
This role will require you to travel to the south of England and be based in the portfolio firm two to three days per week, with the remaining being in the London office or WFH.
Objectives and key deliverables of the role:
- Creating a working plan with the CEO to focus on business needs for the year ahead
- Rebuild a short-term cash flow forecast, ensuring cash visibility and accurate opening positions
- Identify and quantify immediate risks to the business including liquidity pinch points, covenant exposure, overdue payables, and working capital constraints
- Implement short‑term controls specifically targeting spend authorisation, CAPEX and supplier activities
- Develop a minimum viable financial model that integrates P&L, balance sheet, and cash, improving the current model in place
- Roll out real projections on the business performance including creating reliable future visibility and establish a consistent financial framework
- Develop a clear refinancing/sale readiness plan, potentially including milestones for modelling and audit
- Conduct a comprehensive inspection/review of areas that could impact valuation or lender confidence
- Identify a strong investment narrative including market positioning, cost-savings and financial trajectory
- Prepare rigorous due‑diligence early to lower potential pressures
Requirements:
- Qualified CFO (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a minimum of 15 years’ experience
- Previous experience of working as an interim CFO
- Strong experience of refinancing and working with debt covenants
- Previous experience of a sale/exit
- Strong cashflow/liquidity experience - both short-term and long-term
- Strong stakeholder engagement
- Experience of the telecoms or utilities market would be beneficial

We will look at candidates on a daily rate of £1200-£1600 per day, depending on your industry knowledge, background and restructuring experience.
This assignment has been earmarked for a six to nine month assignment but could go longer.
