A boutique real estate investment and asset management platform is seeking a Fractional Chief Financial Officer to support the business following the planned departure of its long-standing CFO.
The business manages a number of real estate and credit investment vehicles and works with institutional investors across multiple strategies. With a lean internal finance team in place, the incoming CFO will provide financial oversight, investor reporting and governance on a flexible, fractional basis.
This opportunity would suit an experienced CFO, Finance Director or senior fund finance professional within real estate investment or asset management looking to take on a portfolio-style role with a growing platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Fund Reporting
- Oversight of quarterly management accounts across multiple funds and portfolio entities
- Review and coordination of annual statutory accounts and audit processes
- Preparation and oversight of board and investor reporting
- Monitoring financial performance and forecasting across investment vehicles
Investor & Stakeholder Reporting
- Preparation of financial reports for investors and senior stakeholders
- Supporting the leadership team with financial insights and strategic decision making
- Liaising with investors, auditors and external advisers
Fund & Platform Oversight
- Oversight of fund accounting across real estate and credit investment structures
- Monitoring bank covenants, debt structures and treasury arrangements
- Ensuring appropriate financial controls and governance frameworks
Compliance & Regulatory
- Oversight of tax, VAT and regulatory reporting
- Supporting AML and compliance processes where required
- Ensuring the business remains aligned with relevant financial and regulatory standards
Leadership
- Providing oversight and support to the internal finance team
- Acting as the senior financial voice within the organisation
- Supporting strategic initiatives across the platform
Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will likely bring:
- Previous experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or senior fund finance professional
- Background within real estate investment, property funds, REITs, or asset management
- Strong understanding of fund structures, investor reporting, and financial governance
- Experience working with institutional investors and external advisers
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred but not essential - proven experience in similar environments is key
- Ability to operate effectively within a lean, entrepreneurial investment platform
