Position Overview:
We are seeking an experience Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead all financial operations for Complete Environmental Group and its subsidiaries. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial strategy and planning, budgeting and forecasting, banking and treasury management, performance monitoring through KPIs, and leading the financial due diligence and integration of acquisitions. This role also includes direct oversight of the Controller and finance team, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial counsel to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Financial Strategy & Performance
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with senior leadership direction.
- Oversee annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and long-range planning for all entities.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across financial and operational metrics.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership, including variance analysis and recommendations.
- Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, cash flow, and overall financial risk.
Acquisitions, Integration & Compliance
- Lead financial due diligence, modelling, and valuation for potential acquisitions.
- Oversee the financial integration of acquired businesses, including systems and reporting alignment.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial financial regulations, tax requirements, and reporting obligations.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Directly oversee the Controller and finance/accounting team, fostering accountability and professional growth.
- Provide strategic financial counsel to senior leadership on business decisions and growth initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and HR to support organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
- Experience in banking and finance, including managing lending relationships and credit facilities.
- Proven track record managing performance through KPIs and financial metrics.
- Direct experience with acquisitions and/or business integration.
- Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Experience in regional transportation, trucking, waste management, or logistics.
- Experience with multi-entity or multi-subsidiary financial management.
- Strong proficiency in communicating financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify discrepancies and recommended solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Pay: $160,000.00-$200,000.00 per year
