DV8 Energy, founded in 2019, in is involved in the production of field and cloud data layers for industrial processes, primarily Oil, and Municipal Water.
Role Description Reporting to the COO, he Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB, responsible for leading DV8 Energy’s finance team. The CFO will oversee financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to support business growth and operational excellence. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing financial reporting and compliance, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring accurate, timely information for executive and board decision-making. The CFO will lead finance team members, collaborate with other leaders on strategic initiatives, evaluate investment opportunities, manage banking and stakeholder relationships, and help shape risk management, cost control, and capital allocation. The role also involves developing scalable financial processes and systems that align with the company’s technology-driven, data-centric culture.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Finance, including experience in corporate finance, capital structure, and cash flow management.
- Proficiency in Financial Planning and Analytical Skills to drive budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision support.
- Expertise in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, including regulatory compliance and audit coordination.
- Proven leadership experience managing finance teams and partnering with executive leadership in a growth-oriented environment.
- Experience in technology, high-growth SaaS, Multi-national Finance a plus
- Advanced proficiency with financial systems, ERP tools, and data analysis platforms.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Professional designation such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent, and a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; an MBA is an asset.
