Job Position:Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at our insurance agency is a key executive leader responsible for driving financial strategy, operational excellence, and organizational stability. This role oversees all financial planning, reporting, and risk management activities while ensuring compliance within the highly regulated healthcare and insurance landscape. The CFO partners closely with executive, operational, and compliance teams to optimize performance, enhance profitability, and support sustainable growth. In addition, this leader provides strategic financial insights that inform company-wide initiatives, operational efficiencies, and an exceptional experience for both clients and partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead all financial strategy and planning, including forecasting, budgeting, capital allocation, and long-range financial modeling to support rapid organizational growth.
- Oversee financial operations including accounting, billing, claims-related financial workflows, revenue cycle processes, and cash management to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and strong internal controls.
- Develop financial infrastructure and scalable processes that support expansion, new product development, and evolving regulatory requirements in the insurance and healthcare sectors.
- Partner closely with executive and operational leaders to evaluate market opportunities, guide pricing strategy, and assess the financial viability of new initiatives or partnerships.
- Ensure full compliance with financial regulations and insurance-industry standards, including state and federal reporting, audits, risk management, and data-driven oversight practices.
- Evaluate and support M&A activities including financial modeling, due diligence, and integration planning.
- Create and maintain P&L’s & Budgets across all departments.
- Provide clear, actionable financial insights to the CEO and Board to drive strategic decision-making, operational performance, and organizational alignment.
- Lead financial reporting and communication for internal stakeholders, external partners, and investors, maintaining transparency and confidence in the organization’s financial health.
- Optimize capital structure and funding strategies, including banking relationships, reserves management, and support for potential financing activities.
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, implementing systems and tools that enhance accuracy, accountability, and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including claims volatility, regulatory changes, and operational exposure, while proactively safeguarding company stability.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance; Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent advanced credential strongly preferred.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of senior financial leadership experience, ideally within health insurance, managed care, healthcare services, or other highly regulated financial environments.
- Minimum of three (3) years in a Chief financial officer or top leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of insurance finance, including claims forecasting, reserve requirements, risk management, regulatory reporting, and premium revenue models.
- Proven ability to build scalable financial systems, processes, and controls that support rapid organizational growth and evolving business needs.
- Exceptional communication and executive-level presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated adaptability and comfort with change, including implementing new technologies, tools, and reporting methodologies.
- High proficiency in financial management software, analytics platforms, and modern reporting tools.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and accountability across finance and operational teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment, balancing strategic planning with hands-on financial oversight.
- Meticulous attention to detail, paired with a broad understanding of organizational goals, growth strategy, and long-term financial sustainability.
SALARY RANGE: $275K to $325K
