Position Title: Chief Financial Officer
Position Overview:
The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a key member of the executive team and a strategic partner to the CEO, with full accountability for the financial performance, visibility, and infrastructure of the organization.
The role requires a hands-on, operationally focused finance leader who can operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels. The CFO will partner closely with operations, supply chain, and commercial leadership to drive margin expansion, improve financial transparency, and enhance customer and product-level profitability across diverse portfolio of programs.
The CFO will play a critical role in strengthening financial discipline, optimizing working capital, and building scalable systems and processes to support continued growth in a complex, client-driven manufacturing environment. In addition, this leader will support the company’s strategic growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, by leading financial evaluation, due diligence, and integration efforts to ensure successful execution and value creation.
This position requires a high-impact, results-oriented executive with a demonstrated track record of driving measurable financial operational improvements in a similarly demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the CEO and executive team to define and execute financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team on growth, investments, and operational performance.
- Lead long-range planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Financial Operations & Reporting:
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, cost accounting, inventory, and revenue recognition.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and compliance frameworks.
Operational Finance:
- Partner cross-functionally with operations and supply chain to drive cost efficiency and margin expansion.
- Own and optimize standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory control processes within a high-SKU, multi-customer environment.
- Lead customer-level and product-level profitability analysis to inform pricing strategy, contract structure, and resource allocation.
- Support commercial leadership with data-driven insights related to pricing, volume, and program performance.
Systems & Infrastructure:
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize ERP and financial systems to support scale and efficiency.
- Design and institutionalize scalable financial processes and reporting tools, and KPI dashboards.
Cash Flow & Capital Management:
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
- Oversee capital expenditures, liquidity planning, and financial strategies.
Team Leadership:
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Key Priorities (First 12-18 months):
- Enhance financial visibility through improving reporting, forecasting accuracy, and KPI development.
- Drive margin expansion through improved cost structure visibility and operational alignment.
- Strengthening working capital management, including inventory optimization and cash flow efficiency.
- Assess and upgrade financial systems and infrastructure to support scale.
- Improve customer and program-level profitability analytics to support pricing and contract decisions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
- 10-15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including prior CFO or senior finance leadership role.
- Strong experience within manufacturing, CPG, nutraceuticals, or related industries.
- Deep expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance.
- Experience in mid-market or higher-growth environments; private equity exposure is a plus.
- Proven track record of building scalable financial infrastructure and improving financial performance.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
