Overview
A Sales Operations Analyst supports the sales organization by managing key operational processes and providing data-driven insights that help sales teams perform effectively. This role plays a critical part in the quote-to-cash process, including creating customer quotes, processing orders, and ensuring accurate transaction handling, while also supporting sales reporting, forecasting, CRM management, and process improvements. The Sales Operations Analyst helps ensure deals move efficiently from opportunity to closed business while providing leadership with the insights needed to guide strategy and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Quote Creation & Order Processing
- Create and manage customer quotes in Salesforce systems based on pricing guidelines, approved discount structures, and contract terms.
- Review quotes for accuracy, pricing compliance, and proper internal approvals prior to submission to customers.
- Process customer orders and ensure accurate entry into order management or ERP systems.
- Coordinate with finance, legal, and operations teams to confirm contract details, pricing structures, and billing requirements.
- Track order status and resolve issues related to order processing, fulfillment, or billing.
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal sales and revenue recognition policies.
CRM Management
- Maintain and optimize CRM systems (commonly Salesforce or similar platforms).
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and proper usage by the sales team.
- Support user training and troubleshooting related to CRM workflows.
Sales Forecasting
- Support monthly and quarterly sales forecasting.
- Monitor pipeline health and identify risks or opportunities that may impact revenue targets.
Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies in sales workflows and recommend improvements.
- Help implement new tools, automation, or process changes to improve productivity and data quality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales, finance, marketing, product, and customer success teams to align sales processes and operational data.
- Support initiatives that improve the overall customer sales experience.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in sales operations, business analytics, order management, or related role.
- Experience with US Public Sector
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
- Experience with quote-to-cash workflows or CPQ tools.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
