Role Title: Interim CFO / Director of Finance (Ok with either level)

Location: Washington D.C (ONLY 1 Day on-site, 4 REMOTE)

Employment Type: Interim / Temporary (Until they find a full-time director)

Client Industry: Nonprofit

Compensation: $75 - $100/hr (Based on level of experience ex. Director vs CFO)

**Must have an active CPA**

Summary: Our nonprofit client (Approx. $15-$20M) is seeking interim support from a CFO or Director of Finance level. Their is a current CFO in the organization but there has been a recent exit by the Director of Finance which is where this need comes up. This is a hands-on role and need someone ready to jump in and get into the weeds day one.

What You’ll Own

Lead day‑to‑day financial operations, reporting, and month‑end close activities.
Deliver financial analysis, trend insights, and executive‑ready reporting packages.
Manage budgeting processes, variance analysis, and financial projections.
Oversee accounting policies, internal controls, audits, and tax‑related activities.
Direct grant budgeting, accounting, compliance, and required submissions.
Supervise and develop finance team members.
Prepare committee and Board financial materials and support CFO in presentations.
Partner cross‑functionally to support operational decisions and long‑term planning.

Must‑Haves

CPA certification.
10+ years of progressive financial management experience, including leadership roles.
Non‑profit or association accounting experience.
Proficiency with financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and audits.
Hands‑on experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
