Job Description
- Assist with the implementation of the Control framework and perform ongoing review of its effectiveness in identifying, reducing, controlling, and reporting key risks that impact clients and the business Operational Incidents
- Coordinate with Operational Risk Management (ORM) and the business to investigate operational incidents, identifying suitable preventative measures and / or incident reduction initiatives and work with the business to implement these
- Continuously look to automate and develop processes for efficient completion of oversight and governance
- Perform periodic and ad-hoc data analysis to identify any trends or areas of concern. Ensure findings are appropriately escalated and assist the business in addressing these.
- Ensure periodic reporting to the relevant Committees, Boards and external recipients is prepared and issued within the agreed timelines.
- Support and develop data collection and analytics solutions to ensure timely and accurate reporting for the relevant Committees, Boards and for internal reporting
- Support the business with any ad-hoc requests in relation to operational policy, procedure and process reviews
- Conduct training sessions as necessary
- Manage and support other members of the Controls team as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned and incidental to the work described above
Qualifications
- Primary level degree in business, finance, accounting or a relevant professional qualification.
- At least 5 years’ experience working in the fund administration/banking industry. This can include other administrators, investment managers or fund auditors.
- Strong computer skills with strengths in Microsoft Office products. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is particularly an asset.
- Extensive understanding of fund administration industry. This includes various fund structures, fee calculations, financial instruments and fund offering documentation review.
- Sound knowledge and experience of internal control and outsourcing frameworks and the ability to implement and apply to the business.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills (Written & Verbal)
- Strong influencing and Relationship Management skills conducted with integrity and sound judgement
- Experience with fund accounting software would be beneficial but not necessary.
- Ability to project manage across jurisdictions / locations and operate effectively in a changing environment
