Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a pivotal role in the organisation's financial strategy and management. With direct responsibility for financial operations, the CFO will oversee financial planning, risk management, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring the company’s financial health and growth. The role requires a seasoned leader with expertise in finance, investments, corporate strategy, and financial operations to drive profitability and deliver sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the financial strategy to support the company’s business objectives and long-term growth.
- Act as a key advisor to the CEO and the Board on financial performance, investments, and corporate strategy.
- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), forecasting, and budgeting processes.
2. Financial Operations & Reporting
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, financial performance, and working capital.
- Implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
3. Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify financial risks, including credit, market, and operational risks, and establish strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure the company complies with all financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance standards.
- Lead risk management initiatives to protect the company’s assets and reputation.
4. Investment & Capital Management
- Oversee investment strategies, financial structuring, and capital management.
- Identify opportunities for growth and expansion through financial investments, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Manage relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and other financial stakeholders.
5. Financial Performance Monitoring
- Develop key financial metrics and KPIs to measure financial performance and drive operational excellence.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the senior leadership team on cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
6. Corporate Governance
- Lead corporate governance practices related to financial reporting and audit.
- Ensure that financial policies and practices align with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
7. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Build a high-performing finance team by focusing on talent acquisition, training, and succession planning.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
Key Requirements
- 20+ years of experience in finance, with at least 5+ years as a CFO in an NBFC / BFSI / large corporate environment.
- Proven track record of managing financial functions at the senior management level, including financial strategy, reporting, risk management, and capital structuring.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, regulations, corporate finance, investment management, and financial forecasting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to engage with Board members, investors, and key stakeholders.
- Expertise in managing financial teams, driving performance improvements, and fostering a high-performance culture.
Educational Qualification
- CA / MBA (Finance) / Post-graduate qualification in a related field.
