Position Description
JOB ROLE:
Serve as the Company’s senior financial executive and strategic business partner to the Executive Vice President, President/CEO, and leadership team. The CFO provides visionary leadership over all financial functions of the organization, including accounting, treasury, tax, financial planning and analysis, risk management, and investor/lender relations. The CFO is responsible for the financial health and integrity of all company entities, and for building and executing the financial strategy that supports the Company’s growth objectives across all divisions. The Company has several primary business entities, including Saltleaf (saltleaf.com); London Bay Homebuilding (LondonBay.com), and Romanza Interior Design (Romanza.com)
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary financial strategist for the Company, partnering with the President/CEO, EVP, and executive leadership team to develop and execute the long-term financial plan aligned with overall business objectives.
- Oversee and take ultimate accountability for all financial reporting across the entire Company, including consolidated financial statements for all entities. Ensure all reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable standards.
- Lead the Company’s capital structure strategy, including management of all banking and lender relationships, debt financing, and equity arrangements. Serve as the primary point of contact for financial institutions and external stakeholders.
- Direct and oversee treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and approval authority for all external electronic payments across entities.
- Lead investor relations, including preparation of financial presentations, reporting packages, and regular communications to investors and partners.
- Provide strategic oversight of annual operating budgets and long-range financial pro formas across all divisions. Drive accountability to budget at the executive level.
- Evaluate, design, and implement financial policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data across all entities.
- Lead, develop, and retain the Company’s finance and accounting leadership team. Provide direction, mentorship, and performance management to the Controller of the Homebuilding Division, the Controller of the Development Division, and other direct reports. Champion a high-performance, values-aligned team culture.
- Oversee risk management for the Company, including insurance, workers’ compensation, and regulatory compliance. Ensure the Company is appropriately protected and in compliance with all applicable laws.
- Provide executive-level oversight of construction draw processes, cost-to-complete reporting, and job cost analysis to enable effective decision-making by senior leadership.
- Take ultimate accountability for all tax compliance and planning, including corporate tax returns, payroll tax filings, W-2/W-3 preparation, and responses to IRS and other regulatory inquiries. Engage and manage external tax advisors as appropriate.
- Oversee executive-level review and approval of payroll processes across the Company, partnering with the Vice President of HR. Maintain backup capacity and approval authority.
- Lead the annual audit process, serving as the primary executive liaison to external auditors. Review and approve all audit deliverables.
- Champion process improvement and innovation across the finance function, including the evaluation, selection, and implementation of financial systems and technology solutions.
- Stay current on evolving accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial best practices. Ensure the Company’s finance function proactively adapts to changes in the regulatory environment.
- Represent the Company’s financial interests at internal and external meetings, industry events, and professional forums. Build and maintain strong relationships across the business and with external advisors and partners.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred.
Mandatory Experience/Background: 15+ years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior finance or CFO-level role. Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing finance teams. Desired Experience/Qualifications: Luxury, high-end residential construction experience. Working knowledge of Sage 300/Timberline and/or NetSuite/Oracle. Proven track record of strategic financial planning, capital structure management, and investor relations.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds. Requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time and travel to project sites and investor/lender meetings as needed.
