The Encompass Group is partnering with a rapidly growing private healthcare practice to hire a CFO / Head of Operations to serve as a key partner to ownership and lead both financial and operational performance.
This is not a traditional CFO role. This is a player-coach position for someone who can think strategically but is also willing to roll up their sleeves and execute.
Responsibilities:
- Own financial oversight including reporting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Build and improve timely, accurate financial reporting across multiple locations
- Utilize systems like athenahealth to analyze performance trends and drive decision-making
- Partner directly with ownership to develop and implement growth strategy
- Lead operational improvements across clinics, patient access, and workflows
- Support and develop existing operations leadership (including current COO/VP-level leader)
- Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable processes
- Act as a true right-hand to the owner in both financial and operational decision-making
Qualifications:
- 8–15+ years of experience in finance and/or operations leadership
- Background as a Controller, VP Finance, or CFO (healthcare strongly preferred)
- Experience in multi-site healthcare or specialty practice environments is a plus
- Strong operational mindset — not just financial oversight
- Comfortable in a fast-growing, less structured “build as you go” environment
- Proven ability to execute, not just strategize
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary (market-driven)
