Our client, a national impact finance and advisory nonprofit, is seeking a Business Operations Manager to support a portfolio of marketplace products, including insurance, workplace benefits, lending marketplaces, and small business solutions. This role reports to senior Business Operations leadership and serves as a trusted partner to the leadership team, focusing on high-impact strategic initiatives, data analysis, and process optimization. This is a highly cross-functional role, ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives in solving complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.
**Please note this is remote, 6-month contract role based in New York. Pay will be $65-$74/hr.**
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead annual and quarterly planning cycles, partnering with cross-functional leaders to define priorities across marketing, risk, product, engineering, design, and operations
- Establish and track OKRs and KPIs, monitor business performance, and report progress to leadership
- Own and optimize the operating cadence of the business, including recurring meetings and forums (e.g., monthly risk reviews)
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive standardization and automation across workflows
- Support business leadership in identifying, managing, and mitigating operational and strategic risks
- Execute ad hoc strategic initiatives as requested by senior leadership
- Partner with Data Science teams to generate insights and inform decision-making
- Lead projects such as business case development, competitive analysis, industry research, and cross-functional initiatives
- Support executive-level initiatives, including leadership offsites and board-related materials
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in financial services, consulting, or a high-growth, analytical business environment
- Familiarity with consumer financial products and/or technology-driven businesses
- Strong operational and analytical skills, with proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Excellent data analysis and organizational capabilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail, curiosity, and a proactive mindset
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and build strong cross-functional relationships
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
