CFO | Private equity-backed industrial manufacturer & distributor | Midwest
Finatal is partnering with a leading private equity firm to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for a $200m revenue industrial manufacturing and distribution business. The company operates across a complex operational footprint, including manufacturing, distribution, and inventory-intensive operations, with a clear mandate for continued growth and operational improvement.
This is a hands-on, high-impact opportunity for a commercially minded CFO to lead finance in a fast-paced, operationally demanding environment. The incoming CFO will partner closely with the CEO and investors to improve visibility, strengthen performance, and support strategic growth initiatives, while maintaining active engagement with lenders and banking partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and build / strengthen the finance function, enhancing reporting, budgeting process, month-end close process, and decision-making infrastructure
- Lead FP&A, budgeting, and operational performance analysis, linking plant, customer, and product-level performance to financial outcomes
- Manage banking and lender relationships, supporting liquidity planning, capital structure, and financing initiatives
- Drive cash flow, working capital, inventory management, and operational discipline across a complex manufacturing and distribution environment
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and board, bringing commercial insight, challenge, and operational perspective beyond traditional finance responsibilities
Requirements:
- Current CFO with 15+ years of relevant experience
- Experience within scaled industrial manufacturing, distribution, or industrial services businesses ($200M+ rev)
- Strong operational finance background, including inventory, supply chain, and multi-site manufacturing / distribution exposure
- Private equity exit experience highly preferred
- Located in the Midwest and open to travel to sites ~50% of the time
