Role Overview
The Business Operations Associate (BOA) is responsible for ensuring seamless execution of academic operations at NIAT. This role focuses on managing schedules, maintaining LMS workflows, tracking student progress, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver a smooth and error-free academic experience. The BOA acts as a key operational enabler, ensuring that all academic activities are executed with accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Schedule & Session Management
- Plan, maintain, and update daily and weekly schedules for classes, labs, and assessments.
- Coordinate with academic teams to manage session access (lock/unlock) on LMS platforms.
- Ensure proper sequencing and alignment of sessions with the academic calendar.
2. LMS Content Management
- Manage and monitor course content across Gamma, Beta, and Live environments.
- Identify content discrepancies and collaborate with content teams for timely resolution.
- Ensure all learning resources (videos, assignments, quizzes) are accurately mapped and accessible.
3. Communication & Notifications
- Draft and schedule student communications, including reminders, announcements, and alerts.
- Align communication timelines with academic events such as labs, exams, and deadlines.
- Ensure messaging is clear, professional, and delivered in a timely manner.
4. Student Tracking & Support
- Monitor student attendance, submissions, and engagement metrics.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in trackers and dashboards.
- Address routine student queries and escalate complex issues to relevant teams.
5. Reporting & Data Management
- Maintain operational trackers, reports, and logs using Excel/Google Sheets.
- Share periodic updates and insights with stakeholders and team leads.
- Proactively identify trends, inconsistencies, and risks, and recommend corrective actions.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with academic, content, tech, and support teams to resolve issues.
- Follow up on pending tasks such as content fixes, technical issues, and escalations.
- Ensure closure of operational loops without delays.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (formulas, filters, pivot tables, data handling).
- Familiarity with LMS platforms, dashboards, and internal tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in execution.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within strict timelines.
- Self-driven with strong ownership and accountability.
- Exposure to AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) for drafting, summarization, and productivity enhancement is an added advantage.
