Global Merchant Services (GMS) Marketing is dedicated to bringing buyers and sellers together and transforming how American Express is welcomed. GMS Marketing is responsible for partnering with GMS markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate coverage and enhance the value of Amex acceptance to merchants and Card Members at scale. We focus on enhancing our relationships with millions of merchants of all shapes and sizes, and our geographic purview includes many commerce hubs across the globe including the U.S, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
This role will have significant exposure, directly supporting the Chief of staff (Strategic Planning Manager) for the Head of International Merchant marketing by improving our controls, processes and ensuring we are compliant across all our initiatives internationally. The role is ideal for someone with the ability to establish collaborative relationships across different teams and geographies, have a process-driven mindset and communicate clearly across variety of operational requirements.
- Understanding Marketing practices, further understanding of operational processes and best practices is beneficial
- Key understanding of risk and process in large organizations
- Experience in process improvement or project management
- Experience in operational risk is preferential
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to synthesize complex operational principles into simple terms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, keeping all stakeholders aligned on multiple projects
