About the Role
My client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to serve as the primary financial steward across a complex, multi-entity family wealth structure. This is a highly trusted, hands-on role that sits at the intersection of tax planning, estate strategy, investment oversight, and financial operations. The CFO will work directly with family principals and outside advisors to protect and grow the family's financial interests across generations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop a thorough understanding of each trust and entity within the Family structure, including their roles in estate planning, asset composition, and unique distributions/ waterfalls
Oversee bookkeeping systems across all entities and manage the consolidated roll-up process to produce and monitor annual cash flow projections
Track and account for all internal capital transactions between related family entities on a monthly basis
Oversee family investing activities, work directly with external asset managers, and provide the family with clear reporting on investment performance and strategy
Lead ongoing annual tax planning and estate strategy updates in close consultation with family principals and outside legal and tax advisors
Structure business and tax frameworks for new investments, and prepare feasibility studies to support prospective investment decisions
Participate in Family Foundation activities at the discretion of family principals
Qualifications
CPA required
Experience in UHNW tax and estate planning, family office finance, or private client services
Deep familiarity with trust structures, multi-entity family wealth, pass-through taxation, and generational transfer planning
CFP and/or CFA designation or a willingness to pursue
Exceptional discretion, integrity, and interpersonal skills; comfortable working directly with family principals in a high-trust environment
