Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with hospital experience to lead our financial operations and strategy. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for developing financial policy and overall financial direction to ensure viability of the Health System in accordance with policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic guidance to enhance profitability and growth. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage financial planning, reporting, and analysis while aligning financial goals with the overall business strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates responsibility for compliance with Medicare and Medicaid regulations; Federal, State, and third party payer regulations relating to Health system policies, procedures, mission, vision and values.
- Enables staff to have access to regulations and billing requirements.
- Maintains policies and procedures.
- Monitors compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Promotes staff education of changes in regulations, policies and procedures on an ongoing basis.
- Responsible for the financial status of the Health System and subsidiary organizations.
- Coordinates and directs development of Health System budget.
- Determines fund availability and appropriate timing for capital budget expenditures.
- Promotes cost containment.
- Monitors monthly budget reports of all areas and responds appropriately.
- Reviews alternate financing possibilities and makes appropriate recommendations.
- Annually reviews insurance needs of the Health System and makes appropriate recommendations.
- Examines requirements for bond issues and maintains compliance.
- Controls, coordinates, and evaluates General Accounting functions.
- Conducts annual review of policies and procedures for assigned areas.
- Reviews and approves revisions to policies and procedures for assigned areas as needed.
- Ensures assigned areas are compliant with JCAHO requirements.
- Responsible for staff assigned areas.
- Ensures staff are performing in accordance with the expectations of their assigned responsibilities.
- Evaluates direct report employees and ensures other staff evaluations are completed appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Handles employee concerns.
- Promote staff morale and positive relations with employees.
- Conduct discipline of staff as needed.
Skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required)
Experience: 3-5 years hospital experience (required)
Clearances: Required: As required by State and Federal law
