- Prepare annual hospital budgets and departmental budgets
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and cash flow
- Forecast financial performance and future financial needs
- Develop cost-control strategies without affecting patient care quality
2. Revenue Cycle Management
- Oversee billing, collections, insurance claims, and reimbursements
- Monitor:
- IP & OP revenue
- Insurance receivables
- Corporate tie-ups
- TPA settlements
- Improve collection efficiency and reduce revenue leakage
3. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare:
- Profit & Loss statements
- Balance sheets
- MIS reports
- Financial dashboards
- Present financial reports to the CEO, Board of Directors, and management
- Analyze departmental profitability and operational performance
- EBITDA Margin
- Net Profit Margin
- AR Days (Accounts Receivable)
- Cash Flow Position
- Revenue Growth %
- Cost per Occupied Bed
- Payroll Cost Ratio
- Insurance Claim Settlement TAT
- Budget Variance %
- Collection Efficiency %
4. Cost Management & Control
- Monitor operational costs:
- Pharmacy
- Consumables
- Payroll
- Equipment maintenance
- Vendor payments
- Implement cost optimization initiatives
- Control wastage and improve financial efficiency
5. Strategic Financial Decision-Making
- Support hospital expansion plans
- Evaluate:
- New branches
- Capital investments
- Medical equipment purchases
- ROI on projects
- Participate in strategic planning with leadership teams
6. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with:
- Tax regulations
- Statutory audits
- Healthcare financial regulations
- NABH/NABL financial standards
- Manage financial risks and internal controls
- Coordinate external and internal audits
7. Banking & Fund Management
- Manage:
- Bank relationships
- Loans and working capital
- Investments
- Cash reserves
- Negotiate financing and credit facilities
8. Payroll & Compensation Oversight
- Supervise salary disbursements and payroll budgeting
- Monitor manpower cost ratios
- Ensure compensation structures align with hospital finances
9. Vendor & Procurement Financial Oversight
- Approve major purchases and contracts
- Monitor procurement costs
- Negotiate with vendors for better pricing and payment terms
- Lead finance, billing, accounts, audit, and procurement teams
- Develop SOPs and financial policies
- Ensure accountability and transparency in financial operations
