Qualifications/Background and experience
1. Joined a DSO at roughly five locations while it was still running lean and grew it past 25. The starting point matters more to me than the ending point.
2. Not someone who came in at 15 locations and took it to 50. That is a different stage than where we are.
3. Strong financial background, MBA preferred. Business acumen and an understanding of what private equity is looking for, ideally from a banking or venture background.
4. Not only an operator. Can look at a P and L and tell me what to add and what to cut, and can look at an acquisition and tell me why we should walk away.
Fit and personality
5. Type A, hungry, highly responsive. Comfortable with an email coming in at 9 or 10pm.
6. Confident and decisive, but still pulls me in on the bigger calls. This is my right hand.
7. Leads a team. Comes to the meeting with an agenda, builds people up, and takes ownership of the call center, structure, and acquisitions.
