Capstone's Parity Search services has been mandated by its Client, a leading NBFC company based out of Mumbai, with pan-India presence - to bring on board a vibrant, modern CFO to lead end-to-end the finance function and serve as a strategic business partner to the Leadership Team.
The role is responsible for financial stewardship, capital & funding strategy, ALM/treasury governance, regulatory & statutory compliance, financial planning, risk oversight, and investor/stakeholder management - with strong emphasis on NBFC- specific prudential, liquidity, and governance frameworks
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Fundraising, Capital Structuring & Investor Relations -
- Lead Debt and Equity Fundraising initiatives. Develop relationships with Banks, Financial Institutions, Private Equity Investors to secure Funds at competitive rates
- Manage and monitor Credit ratings to maintain optimal borrowing costs
- Build strong credibility with Board, auditors, lenders, regulators, and other external stakeholders
- Lead investor communications: performance narratives, financial disclosures, analyst/investor meetings (as applicable)
2. Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Own and drive the company's Financial Strategy, aligned to growth, profitability & risk appetite
- Provide strategic decision, support for business expansion, acquisitions, new products & partnerships
- Support the annual business planning cycle, translating strategy into budgets, operating plans and capital plans
3.Financial Planning, Reporting & Controls
- Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual closing, management reporting, and Board packs with insightful analysis
- Ensure robust financial controls, accounting policies, and compliance with applicable regulations and statutory requirements.
- Drive cost governance, productivity, and financial discipline across the board
4.Treasury, Funding & Capital Management
- Lead treasury operations: liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, investment management, and funding mix optimization
- Own relationships and negotiations with banks, lenders, funds, institutional investors, and other agencies
- Establish strong governance on all mandatory parameters
5.Asset-Liability Management (ALM) & Risk Partnership
- Drive ALCO processes; ensure ALM compliance and proactive risk management (duration gaps, liquidity stress, concentration risks)
- Partner with Risk/Business teams to strengthen credit/portfolio analytics, ECL/impairment, early warning signals, and collection efficiency reporting
- Improve portfolio profitability analytics (product/channel/segment-level contribution).
6.Regulatory, Compliance & Governance standards
- Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting and compliance under applicable RBI, SEBI, NBFC guidelines, audits, and inspections
- Strengthen internal controls, compliance culture, and governance across finance processes
- Lead internal and external audits; address audit observations with corrective action plans
7.Taxation & Legal/ Secretarial mandates
- Oversee direct/indirect taxation, assessments, litigations, and planning (with advisors)
- Coordinate with legal/secretarial teams on finance-linked regulatory filings, Board processes, and policy frameworks (as applicable)
8. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build a high-performance finance team across controllership, FP&A, treasury, compliance reporting, and tax.
- Implement best-in-class systems, SOPs, and dashboards; drive automation and process excellence.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications -
- Chartered Accountant (CA) is strongly preferred
- MBA/PGDM (Finance) or equivalent is an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of regulations, taxation, corporate finance, and NBFC regulatory environment
Ideal Candidate Profile -
- 15+ years of progressive finance experience including leadership experience, with meaningful exposure in NBFC/Financial Services
- Demonstrated success in treasury/funding, lender management, and ALM governance in a lending/credit environment
- Strong experience in financial reporting, audits, internal controls, and senior stakeholder management
- Proven track record of partnering with business leaders to drive growth with prudent risk management
Preferred Profile -
- Experience with rating agencies, capital market instruments (NCD/CP), securitization/assignment structures, or structured finance
- Exposure to technology transformation in finance (ERP, BI tools, automation), and data-led finance analytics
- Prior experience working closely with a Board/Audit Committee and handling regulatory inspections
