About PULL
We're revolutionising how consumers interact with their subscription payments. While most services make cancellation deliberately difficult, we're building the opposite - a platform that gives consumers unprecedented control over their subscriptions. With PULL, users can easily flex payment dates, move them entirely, and even split subscriptions between multiple people.
We’ve secured pre-seed funding to build the MVP and are now assembling the core founding team. A larger fundraise is planned following MVP completion to support broader commercial rollout.
We are looking for someone to lead PULL’s early market validation, product-market fit, and go-to-market development. This is a highly cross-functional founding role spanning customer discovery, product strategy, positioning, commercial experimentation, and early growth.
The right person will help shape not only how PULL goes to market, but also what the product becomes. This is not a support role, we are looking for someone comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a zero-to-one environment.
Role Scope
Market Validation & Discovery
- Lead customer and market validation efforts across both consumers and merchants
- Conduct interviews, surveys, and discovery sessions to validate pain points, willingness-to-pay, and adoption behaviour
- Identify and prioritise the highest-value use cases and verticals for PULL’s early rollout
- Test assumptions around subscription pain points, payment flexibility, and merchant demand
- Develop actionable insights from user feedback, behavioural data, and early engagement
Product-Market Fit
- Own PULL’s early PMF process and iteration cycles
- Help define the initial wedge into the market and refine PULL’s positioning
- Work closely with the founders and engineering team to shape MVP priorities and roadmap decisions
- Determine which features create genuine user pull versus unnecessary complexity
- Develop frameworks and metrics for measuring retention, engagement, activation, and PMF signals
Go-To-Market Strategy
- Design and execute PULL’s initial GTM strategy across both B2C and B2B channels
- Develop PULL’s launch positioning, messaging, and category narrative
- Identify and build relationships with early design partners, pilot vendors, and strategic collaborators
- Shape onboarding, acquisition, referral, and early growth loops
- Test acquisition channels across fintech communities, subscription businesses, creators, and partnerships
- Support fundraising by helping articulate commercial strategy, traction, and market demand
Product & Commercial Leadership
- Translate market feedback directly into product priorities and strategic direction
- Help shape PULL’s merchant proposition and “Pay with PULL” experience
- Work cross-functionally with engineering and founders on roadmap prioritisation
- Contribute to long-term commercial strategy, monetisation, and expansion planning
- Help establish PULL’s broader category positioning within Open Banking and subscription infrastructure
Requirements
- Strong experience in early-stage startups, product strategy, growth, go-to-market, venture building, or product-led commercial roles
- Demonstrated ability to validate products and identify product-market fit in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Naturally curious and comfortable speaking directly with users, customers, merchants, and stakeholders to uncover insights, test assumptions, and drive decisions
- Experience within fintech, SaaS, marketplaces, subscription businesses, consumer products, or other fast-growth technology environments preferred — we are open to candidates from a range of sectors
- Strong strategic thinking combined with a willingness to operate hands-on
- Comfortable working autonomously and helping define direction rather than waiting for instruction
- Strong communication, storytelling, and relationship-building ability
- Excited by zero-to-one product building and engaging directly with people throughout the process
- UK-based or able to work UK hours
- Must have full right to work in the UK — we cannot offer visa sponsorship
Ideal Background (Not Mandatory)
We expect this person could come from:
- An early-stage startup environment across fintech, SaaS, consumer apps, marketplaces, subscription businesses, or other fast-growth technology sectors
- Product-led growth, customer discovery, community-building, or go-to-market leadership roles
- Venture studio, startup operator, innovation, or zero-to-one product-building environments
- Product strategy, growth, commercial experimentation, or customer insight-focused roles
- Founder, operator, or entrepreneurial backgrounds where speaking directly with users and shaping products through feedback was central to the role
- Subscription, payments, Open Banking, embedded finance, or recurring revenue businesses would be beneficial, but are absolutely not required
We are significantly more interested in entrepreneurial capability, curiosity, and execution ability than corporate titles.
Commitment & Structure
- Initial commitment: part-time (~1 day/week across the week)
- Transition to full-time targeted post-MVP and funding
- Equity granted from day one
- Salary to follow on completion of next raise
- Remote-first and output-focused culture
- Significant autonomy and direct influence over company strategy and product direction
Why Join PULL?
PULL is attempting to redefine how recurring payments work in a world increasingly dominated by subscriptions. The market is enormous, the infrastructure is finally emerging, and consumer frustration with existing payment systems is growing rapidly.
This role offers the opportunity to help shape:
- A new consumer financial behaviour category
- A new payment experience layer built on Open Banking
- The future direction of subscription payments and billing infrastructure
If you’re excited by zero-to-one product building, validating entirely new market behaviour, and helping define the future of recurring payments, we’d love to speak.
