Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Elevate Recruiting has been retained by a private equity-backed leader in the media, entertainment, connectivity, and content distribution sector to identify its next Chief Financial Officer.
This is a highly visible executive leadership opportunity reporting directly to the CEO and partnering closely with the Board of Directors and private equity sponsors. The CFO will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, enhancing organizational scalability, optimizing financial performance, and positioning the company for a future liquidity event.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, Board, and private equity sponsors.
- Lead all aspects of finance, accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, audit, compliance, and financial operations.
- Develop and execute value creation initiatives designed to improve EBITDA, cash flow, and enterprise value.
- Evaluate and optimize the finance organization to align resources, talent, and structure with the company's long-term objectives.
- Drive operational efficiencies and process improvements across the organization.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, KPI development, and performance management.
- Oversee lender, investor, banking, and sponsor relationships.
- Support M&A activity, integration initiatives, and strategic growth opportunities as needed.
- Build and maintain a best-in-class finance infrastructure capable of supporting continued growth and future transaction activity.
- Lead preparation for a future liquidity event, recapitalization, or exit process.
Ideal Background
- Current or former Chief Financial Officer with a demonstrated track record of success.
- Experience leading a private equity-backed company through a successful sale.
- Industry experience within media, entertainment, content distribution, digital media, connectivity, telecommunications, technology-enabled services, or related sectors.
- Experience leading finance organizations within companies generating $350 million+ in annual revenue.
- Proven success partnering with private equity investors, boards, and executive leadership teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational transformation, improve operational performance, and optimize finance team structures.
- Strong background in strategic finance, operational finance, and value creation initiatives.
- Experience managing complex, multi-entity organizations and geographically dispersed teams.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, MBA, or equivalent advanced financial credentials.
- Experience in both public company and private equity-backed environments is highly desirable.
- Prior experience supporting M&A transactions, integrations, and capital structure initiatives.
